This bench was designed as part of a collaboration with couture-trained fabric artist and designer Maki Yamamoto.  This bench is  is composed of a collage of handmade textiles:  the seat is hand-painted linen and the sides are cotton and linen.

This bench is part of the Gendo Collection--meaning “movement” in Japanese.  All pieces are a collage of handmade and collectible textiles, including couture’s pleats, flowers and bows; painterly color and hand-sewn lines.  Textiles are created and combined to project texture, shape and movement—not just stretched tight to cover a surface.
